How do I get Full Theft Coverage?

Lucky you! You can still get Full Theft Coverage. Just swing by the store. Quick heads-up: you need to bring your bike along!

Easy peasy! Drop by the store, or let us add it during your first (or next) appointment.

When does Full Theft Coverage apply (and when does it not)?

Full Theft Coverage has your back—but only if your bike was locked properly when stolen. That means:

✅ Double locked when parked

✅ Battery removed (for e-Bikes)

✅ You still have the key to both your bike & battery (and can show them at your appointment)

Don’t have the key or the battery? Then your own risk fee will be only 50% of the regular surcharges (if you’re on Full Theft Coverage).

Note: If the bike is removed by the municipality, Full Theft Coverage rates do not apply.

How can I prevent bike theft?

Simple:
✔ Always double-lock your bike to something secure
✔ Always remove the battery when parking an e-Bike

I thought everything was included in my Swapfiets subscription?

It is! Swapfiets already gives you a top-notch bike including free check-ups and repairs, and double locks to reduce theft risks. But if you want extra peace of mind, Full Theft Coverage has you covered without surcharges, as long as your bike is double-locked.

Why isn’t the battery fully covered?

Because it’s removable! Full Theft Coverage protects your bike, but not the battery—so always take it out when parking. While the battery is covered for 50% in case of theft, it’s still best to keep it safe. Find the full surcharge overview here.
